The
Joan Jett anthem "I Love Rock and Roll" may seem more at home on a
Time-Life collection of 80's songs than on stage in front of thousands
of punk skateboard kids but that didn't stop the tour from adding Joan
Jett and her Blackhearts to this year's bill.
“America’s most successful festival” (Rolling Stone, June 30, 2005) and America’s longest running touring festival--the VANS WARPED TOUR® 2006 Presented By Cingular Wireless--has announced the confirmed 2006 summer itinerary and initial line-up. Fusing cutting-edge musical artists, a few golden oldies, top athletes in the action sports world and a wide range of attractions for fans, the VANS WARPED TOUR® 2006 will launch June 15 in Columbia, MD and wrap August 13 in Montreal, Quebec. Tickets will first be available via the tour’s Internet presale beginning March 15 at 3:00 PM Pacific/6:00 PM Eastern via WWW.WARPEDTOUR.COM. For only $19.99 plus 25 cents for the Hollywood Heart* charity and a convenience charge, fans will receive a concert ticket as well as one copy of the VANS WARPED TOUR double compilation CD. After the limited presale tickets sell out or when tickets officially go on sale in a market, the presale ticket offer will expire and tickets will return to their regular price of approximately $25.00, plus applicable Ticketmaster charges. * Hollywood Heart (www.camppacificheartland.org) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing recreational opportunities through a summer camping program for children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
