Last week, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment announced a BD-Live improvement: they will offer their movies via MovieIQ, a database that can be accessed through BD-Live.  This database provides real-time information on cast and crew, movie trivia, music and soundtrack information, all tied to scenes from the movie itself.

This feature will be available on new releases and new catalog releases starting in September, and will include movies like “Easy Rider”, “Angels and Demons” and “Silverado”.  Sony has also expanded its BD-Live endeavors by adding social networking aspects: the Vinechat system, e-movie cash, multiplayer games, downloadable content and others.
