These high-end speakers use a  '2½ way design', which consists of the midrange and treble frequencies being reproduced by a midrange / tweeter via coax, and the bass frequencies running through both the coaxial bass driver and another 100-mm driver.  The speaker system can be arranged in either 2.1 or 5.1 format.
