EPOS Offers Details on Encore 50 Speakers

EPOS has unveiled the Encore 50 floorstanding speaker at the Munich Show. They will sell for about $8000 per pair, and represent three years of engineering come to life. It includes separate enclosures for treble, midrange and bass, and a sealed housing at the base for the crossover.

It uses a 25-mm tweeter with an anodized aluminum dome that dampens both the driver and the chamber in which it is housed. The two 22-cm woofers and the midrange both boast a 15.8-cm Kevlar cone, and the bass is tuned using a single 9-cm port at the back of the unit.
