Going above and beyond the current standard for premium viewing, Full HD, JVC has announced its Super Hi-Vision D-ILA projector, the first of its kind in the world. This projector features a contrast ratio of 5500:1 and the ability to render a video with a 35 megapixel resolution due to the D-ILA display system.
By using what JVC refers to as “Adaptive pixel correlation technology”, this projector can apparently save up to 50% power and 60% in lamp costs. And it can display purported 10,000 lumens of brightness from the single three-thousand Watt lamp. No pricing or availability information is available as of yet.
