iSuppli is reporting that Vizio has overtaken Samsung as the North American leader for LCD TVs.  Vizio has increased its market share from Q4 2008, going from 13.8% to 21.6% in Q1 2009.  Samsung went from 16.5% to 19.9% in this same period.

iSuppli explains that these numbers are a result of people looking for less expensive TVs during the recession.  Vizio is widely recognized as the value-brand in LCD TVs, its 40 and 42 inches costing about $150 to $400 less than a similar Samsung or Sony TV.
