Web TVs are Growing in Popularity
A new report from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) shows that consumers are increasingly demanding web-enabled HDTVs.  The survey showed that about 14.5 million people want to buy a web-enabled TV – half of all those looking to buy a TV in the next year.

Respondents were asked what they would use their future or current internet-ready TVs for.  Just under half (48%) said they would use the net to browse show information and look up songs that play during broadcasts.  44% indicated that they wanted a web-ready TV to check out actor info.  Other popular applications of web-ready TVs are online video streaming, online gaming and checking the weather in real time.
