LG has partnered with DivX to produce more than 200 new digital TVs that are DivX Certified. These TVs are able to play DivX HD 1080p videos, and are the first in the world to be certified to play DivX at this level of definition.
The new TVs will be shipping to Europe in late April and to the US in late May. Users can access DivX content that they downloaded on their PC or Mac through a USB port on the TV sets. DivX is a popular method of obtaining high-quality videos online at reduced file size. A typical HD DivX movie running two hours would fit on an 8 GB memory stick.
