The 2009 premium LCD and DLP HDTV lines from Mitsubishi have been announced.  The Unisen line will be used for all of the models of new LCDs, which feature 16-inch Dolby 5.1 channel speakers built in to the sets.  The speakers achieve surround-sound imitation by using an advanced algorithm to delay certain sound beams and project them at different intervals.

All of the new Unisen sets feature 1080p HD resolution, less than 1-inch thickness, advanced color processing, and 120Hz for smooth motion display.  The Unisen line will include the Unisen 249 Diamond line, the Unisen 153 Series, and the Unisen 151 Series, available in 40, 46 and 52 inch diameters.

In DLP technology, Mitsubishi will be maintaining its LaserVue line as well as adding a Home Theater lineup.  Two series in the Home Theater line, the 737 Series and the 837 Series, will include several TVs in the 60 to 82 inch sizes.  They can all achieve 1080p HD resolution, and they have the EnergyStar seal.  The LaserVue TV uses laser technology instead of the UHP lamps found in other DLPs, which makes for longer life and less energy use.
