The Beatles’ entire CD collection will be remastered and is set to be released September 9th.  For a limited time after release, the CDs will include a documentary short about each album.  Most of the Beatles catalogue has not been remastered since it was copied on to CD format in 1987.

Fans are still clamoring for digital copies of the remastered songs to be easily available for download, but no word yet on when or if this is coming, although Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono have released separate statements indicating that it is part of the plan for the future of the Beatles catalogue.

The remastered CD set will include fourteen discs:  all twelve of the Beatles original albums, "Past Masters Vol. I and II” combined into one disc, as well as "Magical Mystery Tour.”  This set can also be purchased in stereo.  No pricing information is available for the individual discs or the set as of yet.  Also on September 9th, the Beatles “Rock Band” debut is set to go live.

This is quite interesting. I bought a few of the cd's from their first digital
release but not all of them. I liked the sound then and wonder how much better
it will be when the new mastering is complete. I also have the complete dvd
anthology with rare footage and out takes and such. Is there anything left that
we haven't seen? If so, I'm there. Always want to get more on "The Lads
from Liverpool"

I'll take mine remastered in a set on Blu-ray please! I have purchased
eight-track, cassette tape, reel to reel, albums and CD's already! Open up the
music and give me something I haven't heard before....or just give me back my
reel to reel in analogue with hiss and all it's glory!!!
