In the plasma category are the Series 8 and Series 6 lines.  These TVs are energy efficient and have received EnergyStar’s seal of approval.  They also offer deeper black than before, and a redesigned cabinet.  

The LCD lineup is more robust, with a clear divider line between those sets that use CCFL backlighting and those that look to the future with LEDs.  The Series 7 and Series 7 lines include CCFL-based technologies, while  the 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series house the LED technology.
