The HD Digital Radio Alliance has just released a thirteen-week ad campaign aimed at promoting the sound quality of an HD radio, its ability to access a thousand new stations, and educating the public about what a true HD radio entails.

Many people believe they already own an HD radio because the programs they listen to state that they are broadcast in HD.  A spokesperson from the Alliance is quick to point out that without the proper HD receiver, anything broadcast in HD will not be heard in HD – and the ads make this abundantly clear, by using the closing: “If you don’t have an HD, you’re not hearing HD. It’s time to upgrade.”

Listeners will be sent to HDradio.com in order to see what stations are available with HD receivers that are not available otherwise, and to browse deals for HD receivers.

I have been listening to HD radio for several months now. I have an HD radio in
my office and in 2 cars.
I enjoy the increased choice and greater clarity as
compared to standard broadcasts. I just wish all channels would include text to
describe the program or artist/album/song that's playing. Most stations in my
area only do that for their HD-1 channel, rarely for their secondary
channels.

I'd like to find an inexpensive HD radio for my home but so far I
haven't.
