DirectTV will have the rights to broadcast NFL Sunday Ticket for another four years, right into 2014.  Along with this agreement comes a move to allow customers who do not have DirectTV to access the Sunday Ticket through broadband beginning in 2012.

A more widely distributed “Red Zone Channel” will be offered as well, starting no later than 2012.  Fans will be able to watch highlights and live action from the Sunday games on everything from handhelds to cable TV to the Internet. DirectTV’s broadcasting of the NFL Network, the only channel to broadcast 24/7 about football, has also been extended in this deal.
