The Moxi high-definition DVR from Digeo is now available.  It’s a high-definition digital recorder that does not require a monthly fee nor does it inundate the consumer with advertisements.  This premium HD DVR is currently available by accessing the Moxi.com website.

Amazon has been officially confirmed as the retail partner for Moxi, and will carry this product at a $799 price-point. This HD DVR has a 500GB hard drive to store your media, and its capacity is about 75 hours of full, 1080p-quality video.  It offers a native HD resolution, and its ability to access a home network of the Internet means that digital cable programming as well as media from the PC can be accessed and shared.

Via the Internet, consumers will find Flickr and Finetune readily available to browse, and they will also have the ability to pre-schedule programs with a remote Web browser.   The target consumer for this product is a digital cable user who is looking for premium services not offered elsewhere.  The CEO of Digeo, Greg Gudorf, explains that expected sales are about 10 to 15 percent of the current digital cable market because of Moxi’s very targeted consumer niche.
