Sanyo has unveiled a new projector that packs two lamps and an unprecedented brightness.  The PLC-XF71 has a contrast ratio of 3000:1 as well as an ultra-bright 10,000 lumens.  The projector is only capable however, of a 1024x768 resolution.

The projector also contains Sanyo's exclusive Active Maintenance Filter system, which automatically detects airflow and need for a new filter.  The projector is meant to be used by large events/conferences and some office use.  Installation is apparently simple, using Sanyo's Up/Down/Left/Right lens shift function.

The projector is compatible with a variety of signals including: WUXGA, UXGA, SXGA+, SXGA, WXGA, XGA, SVGA, VGA, and MAC computers.  Provided inputs are RGB (D-Sub 15), Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr (BNCx5), and S-Video.  DVI-D and other inputs are available with optional accessories.  A USB and RS-232 port are also included.

The projector is available this month and retails for $16,995
