CES this year brought a lot of big, high-tech gadgets.  But sometimes it is the little things that impress us.  Sennheiser introduced its HD 800 audiophile headphones at the show.  When we think of headphones, we think, "nnnh, they're basically all the same."  Wrong.  These headphones will blow you away.  If you are the type to listen to your music through headphones, these should be at the top of your list.

The transducer measures 56 mm, which is the largest that can be found in current headphones.  What does this mean?  Well, the larger the transducer the more accurate the low frequency reproduction.  A new, patented ring design helps solve the high frequency resonance problem with the increased diaphragm size.  While human hearing is only 20Hz to 20kHz, these headphones reproduce a frequency range of 6Hz to 51kHz.

The HD 800 headphones even simulate the head related transfer function by delivering sound at a 45-degree angle to your ear.  For lovers of binaural audio, these could be the new reference pair of headphones for you.  To top it all off, they are super comfortable.

The headphones retail for $1,399.95.
