JVC and Sensio Team Up to Create Consumer 3-D Projection System

JVC and Sensio 3D join forces to offer consumers the first 3D solution for the home theater. In order for viewers to receive 3D treatment, they must utilize two JVC HD-ILA projectors and a media server that integrates the Sensio 3D decoding technology.

The projectors will be capable of a high contrast ratio and full 1080p resolution. The Sensio decoding technology will create stereoscopic images from 3D encoded material. It is likely that this technology will be used mainly by 3-D screening rooms and viewing exhibits like museums.

The technology is currently being developed and is expected to reach consumers sometime in 2009.
