Despite a down economy and the trends of popular HDTV manufacturers showing losses this year, Vizio is reporting a profit.  Their third quarter showed about a five percent increase in sales, as compared to last year.  They project that the fourth quarter will also yield an increase in sales.

Much of their sales increase is comprised of newly incorporated 120 Hz Motionflow HDTVs.  The XVT lineup of HDTVs outsold all their other lines – consisting of nearly 60 percent.  Vizio sales consist largely of 42 and 47-inch HDTVs.

Vizio did experience a slowdown when Samsung and Sony began to drop the prices on their LCD lineups.  However, much of Vizio success is also due to the recent sign-on of Wal-Mart.
