"Mamma Mia!" is being released on Blu-ray come December 16th.  The studio has released detailed specifications for the film.  They include some fairly standard features such as a DTS-HD Master Audio Lossless 5.1 audio track, U-Control, Deleted Scenes, Outtakes and Featurettes.  However, Universal is including a new feature that is sure to become a hit.

A new feature allows for interactive audio commentaries.  This function will allow the viewer to record their own video commentary track during the movie and then share it with others via BD-Live.  There are no specifications on what technology will be needed to performs this task, but the PS3's Eye and webcams seem to be the common consensus as to the gear needed.

This function could open up a whole new world on Blu-ray.  Blu-ray's own version of Youtube.  It will only be a matter of time before silly commentaries, ratings and comments will dominate the BD-Live functionality of Blu-ray discs.
