RBH Sound Inc. introduces the MS-10.1 subwoofer featuring dual 10-inch drivers and proprietary Tuned Aperiodic Vent™ (TAV™). This new subwoofer was designed to compliment RBH’s existing Compact Theater 5.1 and 7.1 speaker ensembles, but is available separately for the consumer simply looking for a powerful, yet affordable subwoofer.
RBH is a company that truly believes in the “trickle-down” theory. When they develop a new innovation for their flagship Signature Series, their other lines invariably benefit. Such is the case with TAV technology. First developed for the 1212-SE subwoofer, Tuned Aperiodic Vent™ (TAV™) technology bridges the gap between vented and sealed enclosure subwoofer designs providing deeper low frequency extension than similar sized, sealed designs. TAV™ technology shifts the vent tuning to a much lower frequency than would otherwise be possible in a small-vented enclosure and also improves transient response. Another “trickle-down” technology that made its way into the MS-10.1 is the use of proprietary aluminum drivers featured in the MS-10.1. The rigidity of the aluminum allows for extreme power handling and tight control over bass notes. Powering the MS-10.1 is an internal 250-watt amplifier that can push the dual 10’s down to 22 Hertz. Connection and convenience features include; volume control, adjustable low-pass filter, line-level input and output as well as speaker-level inputs and outputs with a fixed 80Hz low pass filter. The MS-10.1 also features an auto sensing circuit that will turn the subwoofer on when it senses an audio signal, and off after 15-20 minutes of inactivity. Suggested retail pricing of the MS-10.1 is $800 and it is shipping now |
