MartinLogan, to celebrate their 20th anniversary, is offering a limited edition, final run of their legendary CLS electrostatic loudspeaker. Priced at $5,995, the CLSIIz will be available new until December 31, 2002. The CLS’ are offered in exotic wood finishes and can be successfully paired with MartinLogan’s new Descent subwoofer since the CLS has no bass driver in the speaker complement like more modern hybrid electrostatic speakers do.
The CLS is the speaker that put MartinLogan on the map as a high end speaker company and also started many an audiophile on a long and winding journey to hunt down the greatest sound possible. A highly respected custom installer in the Los Angeles area said once of the CLS’ (he owned 3 pairs over the years) that “with the right tube amp and the lights dimmed, you could actually see god in your living room.” For those who have never owned MartinLogan CLS speakers, now might be the time to get off the fence and make the investment. The final edition speakers have a special 20th anniversary plaque and improved ETC spikes for even better imaging.
