This Moment Is Mine,
MCA Records
| Performance 7.5 | Sound 8 |

Back with her first album since 1994, the album proves why Chante Moore is just a notch above and beyond the every day bubble-gum R&B singer. While three albums in a decade may seem sparse to some, Moore takes each album one step at a time and each release appears to reach another level. On ‘Moment’ her voice is stronger, her presence more defined, and her music more engaging. A collection of twelve songs produced by some of the bigger names in R&B including Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis this record succeeds all the way through.

‘Moment’ is the after hours R&B album that could put Moore on track to end up somewhere on the level of Vanessa Williams. Not as jazzy as Anita Baker, but more mature than the Brandys and Shanices of the world. The recording quality here is good and is easily as consistent as the music. The production is also effortless, providing only what is necessary to compliment Moore’s talents. Give this album a shot if female R&B singers are up your alley.
