Cadillac will become the first automotive brand to offer XM Satellite Radio on all its models in 2003. Cadillac will offer XM on the 2003 DeVille, Seville, CTS, and Escalade family of vehicles. In addition, Cadillac will include XM on the 2004 XLR luxury roadster and an all-new entry in the mid luxury utility segment, the Cadillac
SRX. GM has been highly touted for reviving the Cadillac name from a car designed for senior citizen to a mark coveted by affluent and much younger hipsters. The latest lure to the line will be XM satellite radio which will appeal specifically to the Escalade crowd who also can opt for DVD-video screens and frequently install large scale audio and video gaming systems as high priced aftermarket accessories. GM’s announcement is in line with support for XM and Sirius satellite radio from car makers like VW-Audio, Nissan and 0thers. |
