The Very Thought Of You, DCC Compact Discs
Performance Quality = 9.5 Sound Quality = 9.5

There really was only one 'King' and he wasn't some hick pirate who got too much credit for swiveling his hips. Nat 'King' Cole was and will always be the prototypical balladeer. He is the man your parents put on when they wanted to turn out the lights and his is the voice you reach for when you want to do the same. His smoky, regal inflection commands respect and relaxation with the same breath and it has made him immortal in all of music.

Originally released in 1958 this reissue is as close to perfection as your system is going to get. Featuring the title track, 'The Very Thought Of You,' 'Impossible,' 'Cherchez La Femme' and the legendary Gordon Jenkins arranging and conducting; if you even think you like the 'King' you must have this album. Aside from the remastering bonus, two tracks originally recorded, but left off the vinyl version of 'The Very Thought Of You,' are also dropped in here, providing yet another reason to buy. As if we needed one.
