ALL THE PRETTY HORSES (Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment), released theatrically last year, is director Billy Bob Thornton’s romantic western drama Cormac McCarthy’s novel about young cowboys who ride across the Texas/Mexico border. Matt Damon, Penelope Cruz and Henry Thomas star. Aspect ratio is 2.35:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and English Dolby Digital 2.0, with English and Spanish subtitles. Extras include production notes and the theatrical trailer. MPAA rating is PG-13.

THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE (Walt Disney Home Video), released theatrically last year, garnered an Oscar nomination for Sting’s song "My Funny Friend and Me." The animated musical, directed by Mark Dindal, concerns a stuck-up South American emperor (voice of David Spade) who gets a lesson in humility when he’s turned into a llama. John Goodman, Patrick Warburton and Eartha Kitt supply other voices. Aspect ratio is 1.66:1; sound formats are English DTS, English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French THX Certified, with English subtitles. Extras on this two-disc set include an audio commentary from the director and producer, Rascal Flatt’s music video "Walk the Llama Llama," Sting’s music video "My Funny Friend and Me," an interactive game with the voices of Warburton and Kitt, deleted scenes, a multitude of featurettes on the animation process, storyboard to film comparison, workbook galleries, a featurette on music and sound effects, trailers, the ad campaign and DVD-ROM features. MPAA rating is PG.

THE 5,000 FINGERS OF DR. T (Columbia/TriStar Home Entertainment) is director Roy Rowland’s fantasy based on the Dr. Seuss story about a scary piano teacher (Hans Conreid). Peter Lind Hayes and Mary Healy also star in the 1953 musical. The film is in color; no aspect ratio or sound format information is available. Extras include English subtitles, a stills gallery and a Gerald McBoing Boing cartoon. MPAA rating is G.

MISS CONGENIALITY (Warner Home Entertainment), released last year, is a comedy about an FBI agent (Sandra Bullock) forced to impersonate a beauty contest competitor in order to track a killer. Michael Caine, Benjamin Bratt and Candice Bergen. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound formats are English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French Dolby Digital Surround, with English and French subtitles. Extras include an audio commentary track from director Donald Petrie, another audio commentary track from Star Bullock, co-scripter Mark Laurence, two behind-the-scenes featurettes and the theatrical trailer. MPAA rating is PG-13.

ROCKY (MGM/UA Home Video) is a five-disc boxed set containing all five movies about the heroic boxer created and portrayed by Sylvester Stallone. Aspect ratio is 1.85:1; sound format is English Dolby Digital 5.1, with English subtitles. Extras include an audio commentary track with original ROCKY director John Avildsen, the cast and produce, making-of footage, deleted scenes, a 33-minute interview with Stallone, tributes to the late actor Burgess Meredith and cinematographer James Crabbe and advertising materials.

SPARTACUS (Home Vision/Criterian), the revered 1960 gladiator film, comes to DVD with an enormous bounty of extras. Stanley Kubrick directed a cast headed by Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis, Jean Simmons, Peter Ustinov and Tony Curtis in a fact-based story about a slave revolt in ancient Rome. Aspect ratio is 2.2:1; sound formats are English DTS and English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo. Extras on the two-disc set include a commentary by producer/actor Douglas, producer Edward Lewis, original novelist Howard Fast, Ustinov, restoration expert Robert A. Harris and designer Saul Bass, screenwriter Dalton Trumbo’s scene-by-scene analysis, additions to Alex North’s score, a restoration demonstration, deleted scenes, newsreel footage, a 1960 interview with Simmons and Ustinov, a 1992 interview with Ustinov, behind the scenes "gladiator workshop" footage; the 1960 documentary "The Hollywood 10," archival documents regarding the blacklist, original storyboards, hundreds of stills and ads and sketches by Kubrick. MPAA rating is PG-13.
