Phase
Technology is introducing its latest line of high-fidelity home
entertainment speakers called Velocity. Named for its streamlined
shape, this new series includes bookshelf, floor-standing, surround
speakers and subwoofer. Velocity is scheduled to launch during CEDIA
Expo 2003.
Using Uniframe construction, the one-piece woofer frame is molded as part of the speaker baffle surface. The basket is the top layer of a three-part baffle assembly with a dense, highly damped center section and 3/4” MDF. This makes for an ultra-rigid, non-resonant configuration to deaden vibration and produce, clear and clean sound. Phase Technology offers two cabinet finishes with black, paintable metal grilles to match any décor: warm Sun Maple and contemporary Black Rosewood laminate. The woofers in this series are designed for extra long throw and use Phase Technology’s proprietary VDT cones. The injection-molded polypropylene cones are layered with Vapor Deposited Titanium for a smooth and extended midrange response, while the long throw design allows the Velocity system to play at live concert levels without compressing or breaking up. The system uses Absolute Phase Crossovers, a processing technology that gives listeners the same soundstage no matter where they are. A 250-Watt onboard amp powers the matching line of subwoofers. High Velocity subs feature mica/graphite polypropylene drivers, an extremely rigid material that’s lightweight enough to produce quick, defined, room-shaking bass. The internal amp’s smart circuitry, created for the High Velocity series, digitally adjusts the power to produce clean sound at very high levels. Phase Technology offers 8”, 10” and 12” High Velocity subwoofers for flexibility in matching most environment’s acoustics. |
