The
UltraCube 10 is Paradigm’s latest addition to its lineup of
high-performance subwoofers and like the name suggests its compact
measuring in at 12.8x11.5x11.5 inches (HxWxD). Even though it is small,
makers say they have packed the sub with a level of technology and
performance usually reserved for pricier subs.
Paradigm’s Super Class D amplifier is built in to the subwoofer and it features auto on/off, thermal protection and electrical shorting protection. With outputs of up to 1500 watts Dynamic Peak and 650 watts RMS Sustained the amplifier can handle most of what today’s home theaters can throw its way. A ten-inch down-firing mineral-filled co-polymer polypropylene cone that delivers more than 1.5 inches of peak-to-peak cone travel handles the extended bass reproduction. Dual nine-inch radiators reportedly keep the UltraCube 10 solid, stable and free from unwanted resonances and vibrations. The versatile subwoofer fits in many different places and is available now in black ash for $799. |
