Bowers & Wilkins brings its latest in home-theater solutions with the introduction of three new slim models: the XT4 left/right towers ($2,500/pair), XTC center-channel ($800) and XT2 bookshelf/surround-speakers ($1,000/pair).

The flagship XT4 speakers are floorstanding three-way towers intended for use as a main speaker or stereo pair and its reported powerful bass performance comes from a pair of five-inch bass units. The XT2 is a two-way bookshelf reduction of the tower’s design that makes it ideal for surround-channel use or even all-channel use in smaller set-ups. The center-channel XTC is a horizontal two-way speaker designed to complement both the XT4 and XT2. The transducer set is derived from B&W’s Nautilus Series – a one-inch tube-loaded aluminum tweeter is said to provide responses up to 50Hz in all three models while five-inch Kevlar-woven diaphragms drive the bass-midrange reproduction. The XT4 also add a pair of low-frequency drivers for bass up to 34Hz.

The XT speakers are very sleek and compact, their extruded aluminum vented enclosures are just six inches wide. The aluminum exterior is set off by slim black grilles and the XT2 and XTC both have supports for shelf-stands or wall-mounts. An optional floor stand is available for the XT2 for $300 a pair.
