Sony
is launching its latest LCD televisions under a new sub-brand – BRAVIA
which stands for Best Resolution Audio Video Integrated Architecture.
The new brand was introduced on Monday with an unveiling of a right
field sign at Yankee Stadium before the New York Yankees – Toronto Blue
Jays game. Part of the sponsorship agreement with the Yankees
designates the company as the official LCD TV of the team.
All new Sony high-definition LCD TVs released from now on will carry the BRAVIA logo. The first models to be released under the new brand will be five LCD sets ranging in size from 26- to 40-inches. More models are expected to be announced soon. The BRAVIA renaming is part of Sony’s latest promotion campaign that also includes a consumer education site aimed at making high-definition technology simple to understand. |
