Sonos
has released a software feature update that gives users more control
over the company’s Digital Music System. This update adds a Desktop
Controller for Macs, compatible with OSX 10.3 and 10.4. It also
supports the latest iTunes 4.9 release so that users can access their
libraries, playlists and podcasts from their Sonos system. Users also
get more content with the added support for Windows Media Audio
Internet radio stations. The system already comes pre-loaded with over
one hundred stations but users can still add more MP3 or WMA stations
from their Desktop Controller.
Users with large music libraries will benefit from the new Power Scroll feature which allows them to scroll by letter to find a specific artist, album or track quickly. Among other features of the version 1.2 Sonos software is an increased library index capacity from 30,000 to 40,000 tracks, added ability to view tracks within playlists, more user preference settings and support for more sample rates and bitmap album art. The update is available via the Sonos Controller to owners of the Digital Music System. |
