Runco
International has unveiled the LiveLink DVI Cabling System. The
LiveLink Cabling System is the first and only DVI cable system that
effectively supports long distance signal transmissions, preserving the
quality of digital high definition video signal at cable runs up to 75
feet. This Runco-engineered innovation also allows custom installers to
use standard sized wall and floor conduits in sending DVI signals from
processors to remote video displays. Runco’s LiveLink DVI Cabling
System is available now in lengths of 25, 35, 50 and 75 feet.
Typically, DVI cables are reliable for transmitting high definition video signals (720p, 1080i) for only a few meters, although images are even then subject to distortion when cables are bent. LiveLink’s function begins with a DVI-to-HDMI conversion cable that starts signal transmission at the processor or A/V rack. Installers can easily run the small HDMI interface plug through standard wiring conduits, bypassing challenging installation environments, and ultimately lead the digital signal to the display device. Here, the HDMI interface connects to the LiveLink SmartBox™ , which has an attached foot-long DVI pigtail cord to ultimately deliver the digital signal to the display’s DVI port. The SmartBox contains the proprietary Runco-engineered circuitry behind LiveLink’s exclusive signal preservation abilities. Power for the SmartBox is supplied by the DVI source, but a provision has been made for external powering if desired. Runco LiveLink™ DVI Cabling System Features: • HDCP-compliant • DVI 1.0-compliant • Supports 720p and 1080i resolutions • Supports data rates from 25Mb/s to 1.65Gb/s • Noise immunity • Available in lengths of 25, 35, 50 and 75 feet • Meets CL-3 code requirements |
