Research has announced the availability of Le Wing - a product that
pairs their ClearPix motorized retractable screen with a left, center,
and right speaker system. Designed for the high definition video
projection market, Le Wing's screen and speaker system lower and raise
together, providing a unique solution for those wanting big screen
performance when they desire, without any visible screen or speakers
the rest of the time.
First introduced in prototype stage at the Mondial Image Photo Son of Paris in late March, the final production version will be showcased in the StJohn Group booth at the CEDIA 2004 Expo in Indianapolis, IN, September 10 - 12. When using the room for something other than video projection, the screen and front channel speakers are discretely hidden away in a designer-friendly wing-shaped housing. Screen Research has partnered with renowned speaker expert, Triangle Industries, to supply the custom-tuned speakers for Le Wing. Triangle will be introducing a new line of models in conjunction with Le Wing's introduction, including timbre-matched surrounds and subwoofers under the Screen Research brand name. Initially, Le Wing will be available in a 16:9 aspect ratio, in 80‰ wide and 96‰ wide (viewable area) models. False ceiling and floor cabinet models will follow in the near future. Le Wing can be ordered now and will be shipping in November, 2004. Manufacturer's suggested retail pricing starts at $15,700. |
