One of Rock’s leading ladies, No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani, will make her solo performing television debut when she opens the 32nd annual “American Music Awards,” singing “What You Waiting For,” the first single release from her forthcoming album. The special, a presentation of Dick Clark Productions, airs live on Sunday, November 14 on ABC-TV.

On the special, Ms. Stefani joins a line up which already includes Kenny Chesney, Josh Groban, Toby Keith, Jessica Simpson, Usher, Kanye West and Gretchen Wilson. Additional performers will be announced at a later date.

Over the last 18 years, No Doubt has established themselves as one of the most vital live bands in music having won Grammys and MTV Awards, and even having played the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Lead singer and fashion icon, Gwen Stefani’s first solo side project, “Love Angel Music Baby,” on Interscope Records is scheduled for release in November. It will feature collaborations with Eve and OutKast’s Andre 3000 among others, and be produced by some of music’s finest – Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Dallas Austin and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. The album will showcase not only Stefani’s vocal skills but her songwriting talents as well.

“The American Music Awards” honor the past year’s elite in contemporary music as voted by record buyers. On the TV special, which will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, awards will be presented to top artists in Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues, Rap/Hip-Hop, Latin Music, Contemporary Inspirational, Adult Contemporary and Alternative Music.
