Apple has reached an agreement for a class-action lawsuit brought against them regarding older iPods that had poor battery life. Apple has agreed to give customers $50 coupons and extended service warranties in the tentative settlement.

The lawyers in the case estimate that this could affect as many as 2 million people that have bought iPods through May 2004. The case was started by eight consumers in 2003, who claimed that the iPod did not live up to claims that the battery would last the life of the product and also play continuously for up to 10 hours.
