SIRIUS
Satellite Radio announced this week that Volkswagen will offer SIRIUS
as a factory installed option on the new 2005 Volkswagen Jetta
beginning this month, and that Mitsubishi Motors North America
announced an exclusive agreement with SIRIUS to offer satellite radio
as a factory-installed option in various Mitsubishi models.
For Volkswagen, SIRIUS is currently available as a factory installed option on the 2005 Beetle and Beetle Convertible, and will also be available as a factory installed option on the new 2006 Passat later this year. For Mitsubishi, the first SIRIUS factory-installed option will appear in the 2006 Mitsubishi Raider. The midsize truck, which was recently unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, will be available in dealer showrooms in the fall of 2005. SIRIUS will come standard with the Mitsubishi Motors’ Premium Audio System package. All 2006 and 2007 model year SIRIUS-equipped vehicles will include a six-month, pre-paid subscription service and free activation. Following the 2006 Raider, Mitsubishi Motors plans to offer SIRIUS as a factory installed option in three additional models for the 2007 model year. Like this article?
