Unless you follow videogame news, you probably haven't heard about Sony's new handheld plans, but the games may soon be coming to your TV.
A big part of the company's strategy going forward is a service called PlayStation Suite, or PSS for short. The PSS will allow you to download and play games from the original PlayStation on your Android phone or tablet as well as new games designed specifically for the service. Here's where it gets really interesting. Sony's Kaz Hirai mentioned in a Sony roundtable last week that the PlayStation Suite could easily be the "killer app" for Google TV. He didn't detail specific plans, stating that a mobile rollout it first, but being able to download and play games without needing a console could be huge for the connected TVs. |
