We've been talking about XStreamHD for a while now. It was announced way back in 2007, but almost nothing has happened since. Usually when that happens, it means we've got vaporware on our hands. In this case though, things seem to be going a bit differently.
XStreamHD has just signed on Lionsgate as the first content partner for the service. Every Lionsgate film made – over 12,000 movies – is now available to XStreamHD. Even better, new films will be available on the same days as the DVD and Blu-ray release. In case you've forgotten, XStreamHD is a video streaming service that promises 1080p, lossless DTS-HD Master Audio and 7.1 channel surround. In fact, in its latest press release the company says that XStreamHD films will be "exceeding the quality of physical media." Preorders are available now for the hardware, which can be ordered separately or in packages designed to offer optimum performance. |
