Even four years after its release, the PS3 is the Blu-ray player to beat at its price point. It boasts solid performance, decent upscaling and the best record of regular upgrades out of any player out there. This year alone Sony has added disc-free Netflix, Hulu Plus
and 3D capability
and now Vudu is coming to the system.
On November 23, PlayStation 3 owners will have access to the Vudu movie service which provides high definition movies on the same day they're available in stores. New customers will get a $5.99 credit that will allow them to try out their first movie absolutely free. That's not all for Vudu though. The service is getting a brand new user interface, new search features and compatibility with a variety of input devices including the PlayStation Move. "Since our founding, our core mission has been to deliver the best movie watching experience available anywhere," says Vudu's Edward Lichty. "With our sleek new design and killer new discovery tools, we've been able to build on what people have always loved about VUDU and make it even better." The new Vudu interface is set to launch before the end of the year. |
