For many, Netflix is a must-have app. It's an essential for Blu-ray players, TVs, game consoles and other home theater components, and it seems to be present in nearly every piece of new gear that hits the market. It's not surprising that other companies want to jump in on it.
OnLive is one you may not have heard of. They're a company that offers a streaming service for video games, allowing players to use older PCs to play brand new games. Since they're already streaming one thing, it seems logical that they move to another. The bigger news comes from Vizio, who is also working on a streaming movie subscription service. In the US, Vizio sells more TVs than any other manufacturer, which could mean big things for their service. There are no official details yet from either company, but we expect to hear something come January. |
