Netflix has been making some big moves to improve the quantity and quality of its streams, and that's a very good thing for a company relying on streaming customers.  The downside is that those customers getting DVDs and Blu-rays with their streaming content are getting left in the lurch.

There's a very nice feature on Netflix apps for streaming devices like the PS3, iPhone and iPad - if you search for a title and it isn't available, you can simply hit "add to DVD queue."  At least, that's true for now.

In the near future, Netflix will be removing that option, stating that the option "complicates the instant watching experience and ties up resources that are better used to improve the overall streaming functionality."
