Screen Innovations (SI) says that the new Reference II Motorized screens are their most elegant projector screens to date. It's fast, it's quiet, and it's a change to the way SI screens are installed.
The first thing you'll notice, or won't notice, about the Reference II series is the sound. Thanks to a new motor from Electronic Solutions Inc motor, Reference II screens only have a noise level of 3dB over the average background noise of a home. It's a nice, quick motor too. You can have your screen up or down in less than 12 seconds.
SI has also done away with the flush mount chassis normally associated with projector screens. "Up until now," says Vincent, "the industry standard has been selling a separate chassis to put the box in, which is both costly and impractical." Instead, either flush mount bottom plates or a decor plate can be added. The cost is the same for each.
Screen Innovations has also added 12 volt trigger, IR remote and wall switch controls built right into the motor, which makes it that much easier to install. he Reference II Motorized screens will be available in a variety of sizes and materials when they're released on May 1st.
