Building on the acclaim of their original Black Diamond screen, SI will be unveiling the Black Diamond II at EHX Spring 2009. This screen will be shipping in March for a suggested retail price of $2,699. This new screen will come in .8 or 1.4 gains, and will perform well in brightly-lit surroundings because of its ability to filter out ambient light. It will be available in three screen sizes to achieve different aspect ratios; 90 inch, 113 inch & 142 inch. SI claims that the 16:9 screen won’t require black masking at the top and bottom when viewing widescreen video. All screen sizes will also be able to comply with resolutions greater than 2k.
