Silicon Image is changing the way HDTV owners switch between high definition content via HDMI.  Their Instaport Technology is designed into the HDTV and significantly reduces the time spent waiting for a picture to appear.  As the amount of HD capable devices grows throughout the next five years, faster port switching is going to become a greater concern.

HDMI port switching delays typically range from four to seven seconds.  The Instaport technology reduces the access time down to under a second per switch.  Instaport is being built into three new Silicon Image semiconductors.  For more information, visit http://www.siliconimage.com/
