The Starlight1 sports a 32,000:1 contrast ratio, while the Starlight2 kicks things up to 50,000:1. That's around double that of DreamVision's last generation of projectors, which is a great step up to say the least. DreamVision also promises improved black levels thanks to their new True Cinema Black enhancement and a very pure optical lens. As DreamVision puts it, black is really black, and with much more detail.
Both projectors feature a built-in video processor from HQV. The processor takes care of digital noise reduction, mosquito noise reduction, color transition improvement, detail enhancement and, exclusive to the Starlight2, a Color Management System for color calibration.
"What sets DreamVision apart is their unique blend of the latest display technologies with high quality materials, attention to detail and striking European design," says Daniel Jacques, president of DreamVision's US distributor, Audio Plus Services. "The result is truly remarkable, especially for a DreamVision projector at such an affordable price point." Both projectors are available in white, black and custom finishes. They've got a built in 2.35:1 mode, but Cinemascope kits are available for more demanding installations.
