On paper, its 10,0000:1 contrast ratio makes the FORCE ONE look like an inferior option when compared to Cineversum’s BlackWing Three, but CEO Jean-Claude Younes explains. “The full on/off contrast measurement method favors small projectors which have a naturally low darkness,” he says.
“[The FORCE ONE] is enhanced by an ultra-high performance dynamic iris, bringing, at an impressive 6000 ANSI lumens, the contrast up to 10,000:1. That is the first time that a 49 foot screen can be displayed with a 5-digit full on/off contrast ratio,” says Younes.
While the BlackWing Three may look better on paper, things change when the screen gets bigger. If you compare the two on an eighty inch screen, the BlackWing will look superior. Compare them on a thirty foot screen though, and the FORCE ONE will retain its crispness and clarity, while the BlackWing will look horribly underpowered.
The FORCE ONE is available now from select dealers in the US, Canada and the Caribbean at a price of $95,000 without lens. Lens pricing varies from around $15,000 for an Absolute HD fixed lens, to $19,000 for Absolute HD motorized lenses.
