The Sage Series SCS subwoofer is incredibly capable, as is to be expected from Wisdom Audio subs. It’s powered by a 400W internal amp, and it’s got a unique dual-woofer design that uses two smaller cones to create the equivalent area of 13 inches. It can even kick out sound pressure levels in excess of 120dB at 25Hz.
But it’s not the sound that’s got people talking, it’s the size. The nickname of “the suitcase sub” is well deserved, since its dimensions are anything but traditional. Coming in at 37 inches by 22.5 inches by 7 inches, the suitcase sub is an alternative to the traditional cube shaped designs. “The uncommon shape of the SCS creates opportunities for installation in places where a cube subwoofer would not fit or be effective,” says David Graebener, vice president and systems designer at Wisdom Audio. “We wanted to address all possible installation options… This product is not only an excellent performing subwoofer, but also offers unprecedented installation flexibility.” The Sage Series SCS suitcase sub can be had now for an MSRP of an even $4,000. |
