U.K. based Monitor Audio has just announced the release of their new FB 110 and FB 210 and FB 212 subwoofers. Designed to match even the "fastest" speakers on the market, even electrostatics, the new subwoofers from Monitor Audio use an extremely light and rigid silver 10" C-CAM (ceramic coated-aluminum/magnesium) drivers. They feature cast basket oversized voice coils and a vented pole piece to keep them running cool. They are powered by high power, high current amplifiers to give the subs the needed headroom for today’s movie and music and extended bass demands.
Monitor Audio’s top of the line subwoofer, the FB 212 features a completely new design with a compound push-pull (Isobaric) configuration to produce deep powerful base from the fairly compact frame with a 12 inch bass driver. A powerful class A-B power amplifier supplies 360 watts R.M.S continuous power to the $1,995 FB 212 and allows it to go as low as 19 Hz. This sub also features variable Q to help tailor the sub to your specific needs. The FB 212 is available in Natural Cherry, Rose Mahogany and Black Oak real wood veneers.
