Featuring wood cabinetry and built in powered subs, ZVOX is making a run at capturing a higher end soundbar market. The 430, measuring 30.5” wide, and the 440, at 39” wide, both feature a depth and height of just above five inches, making these fairly compact and unobtrusive.
Both soundbars feature the same internal components including a trio of 3.25” full-range speakers that create a virtual surround experience, and a 4” powered subwoofer. While the subwoofer will produce sounds as low as 43Hz in the ZVOX 440, the smaller cabinet size of the 430 means a range that bottoms out at 48Hz. The 430 is shipping now at a price of $449 and the 440 can be expected at the end of September for $549 Also announced by ZVOX was a pair of soundbases: the Z-Base 525 and the IncrediBase 575. Essentially a smaller version of the Z-Base 550, the Z-Base 525 is designed to work with smaller TVs and with a size of only 24”L x 12.5”D x 3.5”H, will fit nicely on a standard bookshelf. For integration not only as a speaker, but as a display base, the Z-Base 525, shipping now at a $399 price point, is also being touted as a sound option for PCs. The big boy of the bunch is the ZVOX IncrediBase 575. Featuring five 2” full range speakers and a pair of 6.5” subwoofers, the IncrediBase offers bass response down to 35Hz. The IncrediBase takes a bit out of the economical appeal out of the sound bar option however, with a MSRP of $799.99. |
