As consumers download songs from the Internet in record numbers, digital-music fans are seeking affordable ways to improve their listening experience with portable CD and MP3 players. The fact is: standard ear buds and headphones that are included with today’s portables simply don’t offer the best sound reproduction. And the sophisticated younger generation is recognizing that affordable, quality portable headphones will really make a difference in audio performance. many consumers are willing to make a small, additional investment to enhance their on-the-go lifestyle. With this in mind, Sennheiser is introducing the MX Series, a new line of ear buds, and the PX Series, a new line of mini-headphones.

MX Series
According to Sennheiser, the MX Series ear buds offer full-bodied music reproduction and act as a high-quality alternative to throwaway ear buds. All of the models in the MX Series utilize a 3.5 mm stereo jack for a connection to a portable player of your choice.

MX300, MX400, MX500
The MX300 headphones sport a glossy black finish highlighted with silver print. As the entry-level model in the MX Series, the frequency response of the MX300 features a big sound that emphasizes bass according to Sennheiser. The MX300’s suggested retail price is $9.95.

The MX400 is very similar in design to the MX300, while adding chrome accents to the visual mix. The MX400 also boasts improved bass response, higher output and a cord wind-up carrying case that fits right into your pocket. The MX400’s suggested retail price is $14.95.

At the top of the line, the MX500 ear buds have been designed with a blue metallic finish. The frequency response of the MX500 has been extended up to 22kHz for enhanced treble reproduction as well. A volume control is built right into the cable and a cord wind-up carrying case is also featured. The MX500’s suggested retail price is $19.95.

PX Series
According to Sennheiser, the PX Series headphones are optimized to reproduce pop and rock music as well as enhance the active lifestyle of today’s youth by being lightweight, comfortable and ergonomically pleasing. All models in this series are also outfitted with a 3.5 mm stereo jack to connect to a portable player of your choice.

PX200 and PX100
The PX200 and PX100 both feature a folding steel reinforced headband and carrying case. The ear cups can be turned 90 degrees and the headphones can easily be folded and locked into a closed position. When flipped back into open position, the headphones will simply lock up again. Both the ear pads and headband padding are replaceable on both models.

With and open-transducer frequency range of 15Hz-27Hz, the PX100 offers outstanding sound reproduction, tight bass and crystal clear highs according to Sennheiser. Its suggested retail price is $49.95. The PX200 is based on the closed-transducer principle, which translates into a more isolated listening experience – ideal for not being disturbed or disturbing others. Using an integrated bass tube and delivering a frequency range of 10Hz-21kHz, Sennheiser believes that the PX200 features powerful and punchy low-end reproduction. The suggested retail price for the PX200 is $59.95.

PX40 and PX30
The PX30 boasts a wide frequency range of 30Hz-20kHz and are priced at $14.95. The PX40 offers in-line volume control and a wider frequency range than the PX30. The PX40 is priced at $19.95. Both models incorporate Sennheiser’s bass tube, which was designed to achieve a clean and rich low frequency response while still maintaining a diminutive size.

All components of both the MX and PX Series come with Sennheiser’s two-year guarantee and are available now.
