Though optimized for portable players, Sennheiser has high hopes that their new HD headphones will be adopted by hi-fi audiophiles. Available online now and in Best Buy stores this October, Sennheiser’s new range of HD headphones offer a variety of options tailored to common consumer preferences. Featuring a closed back sound isolating around the ear design, the three new HD headphones offer a variety of options based on the listening style of the consumer. Bass is the main focus of the HD 428, and offers the most powerful bass response of the trio. With a dark rubber coating, the HS 428 is a bit more rugged looking than the other sets, such as the HD 438 which features a style reminiscent to that of a chrome wheel. A natural sound signature is the domain of the HD 438, but for precise and detailed sound, the more elegantly styled HD 448 is the way to go.
